Machine Grade & Hand Grade Polypropylene (PP) Strapping

Landen polypropylene (PP) strapping is a lightweight, flexible, and cost-effective solution ideal for light to medium-duty applications, such as packaging boxes, stabilizing pallets, and bundling products. PP strapping has high elasticity, so it is particularly effective for shifting or irregular loads.

Available in hand-grade and machine-grade options with an embossed finish, polypropylene strapping is compatible with both manual tools and automatic strapping machines. Contact us to request a quote today for our machine-grade or hand-grade PP strapping.

Why Choose Polypropylene Strapping?

Polypropylene strapping offers several advantages over other types of strapping materials. It performs reliably at a lower cost, making it a preferred choice for budget-friendly operations. Polypropylene strapping is also lightweight with no sharp edges and rust-proof in applications exposed to moisture or humidity.

Polypropylene vs. Polyester

While polyester offers greater tensile strength and durability for heavy-duty applications, polypropylene is more suitable for tasks where high tension isn’t necessary. However, PET strapping provides better stretch recovery than polypropylene, making it ideal for containing loads that may compress or expand slightly during storage or shipping.

Machine-grade polypropylene strapping is easier to manipulate and gentler on equipment than polyester. This makes it suitable for a wider range of hand tools and semi-automatic machines for small-scale and high-volume applications.

Disadvantages of Polypropylene

Polypropylene strapping has some limitations, such as a lower tensile strength compared to polyester, which limits its use to light and medium loads. It is also less durable than polyester in harsh environmental conditions — it can degrade under prolonged UV exposure and is less resistant to extreme temperatures and abrasion.

PP strapping also may not be appropriate for loads that require a consistently tight hold over time, as its stretching properties can lead to reduced tension.
