What kind of tape do Landen case sealers use?

Our case sealers run standard pressure-sensitive BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) tape. The LP-553X stainless steel case sealer, LP-555A random run case sealer, LP-557F, and LP-563 support both 2-inch and 3-inch tape widths, giving you flexibility based on carton size and seal strength requirements. Heavier or oversized cartons typically use 3-inch tape.

Can a case sealer handle both small and large cartons on the same line?

Yes, but only if it's a random run case sealer. Uniform case sealers require manual adjustment for different case sizes, slowing mixed-SKU operations. Random run case sealers like the LP-555A use built-in PLC memory modes to detect each carton as it enters the conveyor and auto-adjust the head and side belts before sealing. If you're running mixed sizes, a random run case sealer is almost always the right call.

How much labor does an automatic case sealer typically save?

Most operations replace one or two manual sealing stations per automatic case sealer.
